Now if we could just do something about the 18" of snow we had this weekend, and getting the power back on in the county, which is still almost totally in the dark and cold 3 days later!Gonsalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531623280789478092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-18862373417763964222011-11-01T12:59:45.189-04:002011-11-01T12:59:45.189-04:00Excellant post. As you've doubtless realized, one of my aims in these posts is to assemble, from multiple sources, the practical information you need to paint wargames units, which depending upon the scale, can include some fairly obscure details that aren't always that easy to come by. Even I don't worry about the different sword knot colors by artillery company (it is there is Viskovatov if you need it), though, LOL!)Gonsalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531623280789478092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-58604283106761989512011-10-28T06:48:48.295-04:002011-10-28T06:48:48.295-04:00Really nice work.Really nice work.Rodgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14447816347472085277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-27625512296884663392011-10-28T00:50:01.138-04:002011-10-28T00:50:01.138-04:00Another great article, Peter.Another great article, Peter.Castigatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10513201836577848475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-1173171406260295252011-10-28T00:14:46.931-04:002011-10-28T00:14:46.931-04:00Thanks, Paul. I must admit that although I'd read the material several times before, it never really sunk in until I wrote this post that the helmets persisted in the Horse Artillery until almost the end of the Napoleonic Wars (mid 1814). I'd always assumed the transition was much earlier, 1811-1812, but not in fact the case!Gonsalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531623280789478092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-63085337826504309372011-10-27T18:31:17.771-04:002011-10-27T18:31:17.771-04:00Very nice Peter,
