A unit of pretty generic Patriot Militia.
Coats in shades of brown, with a smattering of white facings.
A fairly generic "Liberty" flag as well.
Back to Brigade Games for these figures.
These could pretty much be any group[ of "minutemen".
Flag by Adolfo Ramos.
Anyone remember Hector Heathcoat?

Another great looking unit, I like the Brigade figures they make for a good stand of militia, very nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donnie!
DeleteVery nice! I’m pleased to see someone else discover the joy of brown for tax dodger militia. I went one stage further and used a very dark brown in place of black for hats etc. It was an effect I discovered when I wanted to tone down Confederates as I found black jarring, so I replaced it with burnt umber/chocolate to give me instant worn Rebs!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them. With my remote and abortive attempt at 15mm ACW armies I definitely threw in quite a few brown hats for the Rebs as well!
DeleteVery nice they look, too, Peter. Must be just about time for an AWI game?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith. We're getting there. Need a few more British Infantry, some Cavalry, and a few commanders (all of which are in the earliest stage of painting).
DeleteSuch realistic proportions and poses on these figures
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary; that is very much indicative of Paul Hicks' style
DeleteLovely mix of browns and a fun flag!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
These chaps are probably fairly close to what local militia may have looked like when turned out in a hurry, and before their clothes became tatters!
DeleteThese great looking just keep on rolling off the painting table. Fabulous stuff.
ReplyDeleteAfter a very slow 3rd quarter, painting productivity has really picked up in Q4! That is fairly typical, though.
DeleteAnother fine unit Peter. The flag is quite distinctive. Adolfo Ramos produces some lovely stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lawrence. I have made extensive use of his flags for this project. I have quite a few more created from download of internet images.
