Some more minor reinforcements for the Russian ahead of the big Snappy Nappy Spring 1807 Campaign next weekend.
Like a Napoleonic Empire scraping the bottom of the barrel in the search for more men, this uinit has more than a few odds and ends in it.
The bulk of the figures are Sash and Saber, with a few Steve Barber designs figures (the stand with the firing pose) thrown in to make the unit up to full quota!
The flag is by GMB designs; of course, the Jagers weren't given flags, but when did that ever stop me? :-)
As most of you will already know, the differences between the Musketeer and Jager regiments in the "1812" uniform were minor; mostly the green trousers.
All ready for their campaign against the French in Poland!
The figures fit well together Peter. A smart little unit.
ReplyDeleteMy Russians have become seriously outnumbered by my French and Austrians for a while, so some augmentation of their forces was in order. I think I have figures on hand for a bit more cavalry and artillery somewhere, too!
DeleteNice unit and good to see Napoleonic chaps again
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gary. Napoleonics will likely be the flavor for Q4, with a return to the AWI in 2027.
DeleteYou'd have to look closely to suppose this units was an eclectic mix of makes. Especially if, like me, one was unfamiliar with either (any) of the manufacturers. A Jager unit 'ought' to include a few shooting figures anyway...
ReplyDeleteThat is a really nice unit - and the flag could serve as the rallying point for re-converging a unit deployed in skirmish order... Just sayin'...
Cheers,
Ion
Thanks for the kind words re: this rather polyglot unit, Ion!
DeleteA nice looking unit, very well done and it would have been a shame not to give such a lovely unit a flag, sets them off nicely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donnie! I'm not one to waste a flag, especially one from GMB!
DeleteGood looking unit, Glad to see it ready fir the game. Good luck for the day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe. Looking forward to it. Eric is actually flying up from Carolina for the game.
DeleteVery nice work on the Jägers, Peter! A very smart-looking unit, and the mix of poses gives them plenty of character.
ReplyDeleteThat GMB flag finishes them off a treat.
All the best, Andy
Thanks, Bruce. Very inconsiderate of the Czar not to have given the Jagers flags in real life! :-)
DeleteFor a rag tag bunch of misfits, they look pretty good, Peter
ReplyDeleteThank you, Keith!
DeleteLovely Jagers Peter, painting Russian infantry is a never ending process lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure, LOL. must say their earlier uniforms are far more interesting!
