We used "small" units of 12 inf/8 cav/6-8 crew with 2 guns, and the great U shaped table was actually made up of THREE tables - two 8x5 foot tables, one on either flank, and a central 5 x 12 foot table in the center. Even with that, unit density was fairly;y high. Dresden was one of the largest battles of the entire Napoleonic Wars, up there with Wagram, Bautzen, and Leipzig. Can't wait for the battle reports.
PS I am pondering your Dresden scenario in 28mm is 14 feet x 12 feet enough with big battalions or do we split the battle in two? warpaintjjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08997436342156047352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-34945369662555953712015-04-28T17:09:50.252-04:002015-04-28T17:09:50.252-04:00Wow that's very interesting, and an awful lot ...Wow that's very interesting, and an awful lot of work! I figured the absolute minimum to run the event was 8 players - 4 French and 4 Allied players, but was hoping we'd get at least 14 (8 Allied and 6 French). If we had less than 12. I would have halved all the rosters, and indeed was expecting to have to do that until the last 2 weeks before the event. Having the numbers we did allowed for "pure" C-in-C's, which is a big plus, although a few players had to share a large command (such as Prussian Korps). Twenty players is a decent roll-up on the day - how many did you actually have in mind when you first started the planning?

I am really looking forward to seeing how this unfolded over the forthcoming posts.Lawrence Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11626386564817082992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-17704940044389062282015-04-28T03:00:10.012-04:002015-04-28T03:00:10.012-04:00That is huge, really looking forward to the game r...That is huge, really looking forward to the game reports

IanIanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17113835961977211021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9170582445870210697.post-90649618890397908112015-04-28T00:34:00.643-04:002015-04-28T00:34:00.643-04:00"I'm much better now!" :-)
