ReplyDeleteHobby spending looks reasonable especially if travel expenses are backed out. Q4 hobby spending for me has been a bit wild with all of the great sales on offer.
No question that the Historicon expenses are a big factor, although certainly well worth the money spent! I don't know how many guys can afford to attend all three HMGS East conventions every year!
DeleteAgree with Jon, quite reaonable. How will the black Friday sales throughout the hobby influence you?
ReplyDeleteWell, I already dropped a fair amount on a 40% off sale at Michaels (forthcoming post). With the Tyroleans all now in hand, I really have no great need of new lead for quite a while. After the Tyroleans are completed, I have about 200 early (Imperial) French to paint, 300+ Austrians, at least 300 Macedonians, about 200 ECW figures, probably 100+ Italian Wars figures, and plenty of other odds and ends. With no other new projects planned for 2019, perhaps that WILL be the year to shrink the lead pile! :-)
DeleteIndeed, the only foreseeable figure purchase for a while is the Murawski Baden Light Dragoons and Artillery, if they have a Holiday sale.
I still cant understand how you can publish money spent whilst married !!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHis wife doesn't read the blog?
DeleteI am pretty sure my wife doesn't read mine
Gary, I have no secrets from my wife. She pays all the bills (but I earn the money, LOL), and anyway, believe me that she spends far more than I do on our dogs, etc.
DeleteAnton, if I ever wanted to hide something from the Empress, putting it on my blog would be more secure than Fort Knox as far as her finding it is concerned. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a decent bill but I guess 50% was Historicon, then it seems more reasonable, I'm pretty much upfront on hobby spend not difficult this year as I haven't spent much!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Honesty is the best policy for sure. At present, I am expecting 2019 to be a very low expenditure year, for the reasons cited above. We will see!
DeleteHistoricon really was the big expenditure for the quarter, but well worth it for the memories and to see those Spanish in action. I know I thoroughly enjoyed reading about it.
ReplyDeleteHistoricon is a big expense every year, but well worth it to me!
