After a brief hiatus, we return to more soldiers for The Wars of the Roses.
This unit wears the Gules and Argent livery of William Fitzalan, Earl of Arundel.
Being troops of their Lord's Retinue, they are better armed and equipped than the earlier units of Levy.
There's a lot more armor in evidence on these stout fellows, once again form Old Glory.
Perhaps that's the Earl himself, inspiring his men?
Fitzalan's contingent fought on the Yorkist side at the Battles of 1st and 2nd St. Albans, and at Towton.
Reinforcements, and handy at their job as well. Nice brushwork.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe!
DeleteBy the way, last night we watched an episode of the excellent and long running Canadian TV series, "Murdock Mysteries", and as it opens there is a Polish Winged Hussar in full armor, etc., galloping across the screen, with several more such appearances during the episode!
Another fetching livery and combination of colours Peter which looks great on these figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lawrence!
DeleteMore nice work Joe and another showcase for the quality of the Old Glory figures in this particular range.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith. I agree, this is definitely one of the better Old Glory ranges!
DeleteMore fine additions
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them, Keith! Plenty more yet to come!
DeleteAnother eye catching (not just with those billhooks) unit.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely don't want to catch your eye on one of those!
DeleteLovely characterful figures, nicely painted!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
