Rebellious Historicon 2026 Plans

While the theme for this years Historicon is the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolutionary War, ALL of my games this year feature a rebellion against Royal authority in one way or another.

Table set-up for my Brandywine game - the Americans are on the far side of the Brandywine, which an only be crossed at one or more of 5 fords.

Looking South...

and North. This game will use almost all of the AWI figures I have posted the past 9 months, and then a few more!

I did some terrain pieces to rep[resent the ditch at Marston Moor (and ditches feature in quite  few other battles).

Close up of the pieces; water effect was done with layers of Modge Podge.

Theoretically, sign up for games and other events starts tonight at 8 PM; less than 1 hour! Below is the schedule of games that I am running, along with those by Milton Soong, Jeff Grein, Jim Mauro, and Mark T. See some of you there in less than 2 months!

  1. Registration for game tickets opened at 8 PM; at 9:30 PM, all 44 of my slots are filled! Crazy!

  2. It has to feel great filling your games that fast. The terrain looks great. I especially like the ECW ditches.

    1. It is, but last year they change the game registration system so that you can sign up for as many games as you want (you used to be limited to 1-3 per day until the day of the show. That kept slots open, but also left open slots. This way almost all games are full, BUT if there are games you really want to play in, you need to sign up in the first hour or so. That also means any games added after registration opens may struggle to fill. On balance, I think the pros out weigh the cons.

  3. Well, now comes the fun part, the packing and list making that always precedes the 'con. Some very nice units involved and no doubt the tables will be first class.

    1. Indeed! Marston Moor is pretty much all packed up and I will do the same with Brandywine sometime after the playtest in about a week.
Wakefield will be last, but that only uses a 4 x 6 play area and fairly limited troops, so that takes up the least space. I'll do a run through of that by early July and then pack that up, too. I have to leave space for Thomas and myself, though!

    1. Indeed, I will. Nothing new for me at Historicon, though! :-)
