Although from the same pack of Old Glory as the first unit of Thracians, these are about as different as can be.
Partly that's the different style of shields...
and partly a very different set of colors and painting style.
Much more subdued colors on these.
Obviously a different tribe from the first uinit!
I especially enjoyed doing the cloaks!
Excellent work sir.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michal. Of course, now I see that I need to clean up the bronze edge on that pale green (Delta CC "green tea") shield!
DeleteVery nice, and the subtle shade of green works well.
ReplyDeleteThanks; probably closer to what they could achieve with vegetable dyes!
DeleteThis is very hard to believe that this unit is from the same pack as the prior unit. Very different tribe, indeed!
ReplyDeleteThat was half the fun of doing the two units!
DeleteThose Rhompias look nasty
ReplyDeleteIndeed they do!
DeleteNice work. I always liked Peltasts!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John. The Thracians pretty much originated the Peltast concept.
DeleteThey look fabulous! The shadows in the folds of the capes are good.
ReplyDeleteThey put me in mind of the elf warriors in the Two Towers.
Thanhks; I can see why they might remind you of them!
DeleteLovely looking peltasts! Nice to have a bit of variety with this troop type!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
It's actually a clever ploy to confuse the enemy. "They can't be Thrtacians; they don't look anything like the other guys..."
DeleteTHWACK!
:-)
Great looking Thracians again, Peter. They look very deadly too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dean. let us hope so... at least when fighting on my side!
