The Kingdom of Wurttemberg has another infantry regiument marching off the painting table this week!
The 5th Regiment has sky blue facings and pewter buttons.
Therse are Piano Wargames figures once again, designed by Lucas Luber.
The flags were laser printed from free downloads from the Piano Wargames site.
The Inhaber of this regiment, Prinz Friedrich, was the King's nephew, who was 1 year old in 1809!
Prinz Friedrich later pursued a military career, with involvement in the Austro-Prussian war on the losing (Austrian) side.
A lovely unit Peter. The sky blue facings look very effective against the darker blue uniform.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lawrence. I agree, it an attractive and fairly unusual combination!
DeleteThey are a super looking unit, very nice work on some lovely figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, Donnie... and, welcome!
DeleteAnother excellent unit to add to the Confederation of the Rhine, they do look fantastic Peter. I love the basing, may I ask what flock you use for the grass?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris! Unlike some, I don't enjoy basing; I want it done as quickly as possible, and yet still look good. I use the "Alpine Meadow" flocking mix by Scenic Express. Essentially its a mix of coarse flock, static grass, and fine talus.
DeleteSeems Scenic Express isn't sold in Oz but I do like the look and will see if I can mix and match local products to achieve a similar effect. Thanks Peter.
DeleteThese look great and are another fantastic addition to your burgeoning Bund Armee Peter!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words, Keith! Lucas' sculpts ae fantastic! The Rhine Confederation is at the center of my Historicon 2024 game planning. I still have the Wurttemberg Guard, High Command, and one more line regiment to paint, plus more Bavarian s (Cavalry, Artillery, Light Infantry, and High Command),
DeleteGorgeous Wurttembergers! It's a lovely combination with the sky blue facings, very nice sculpts and a great flag!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Glad you liked them, Iain!
DeleteBeautiful figures, Peter. Those figures are stunning. I must've missed your earlier post on the, but first I've heard of Piano. They are impressive.
ReplyDeleteLucas has run 5 Kickstarters now, and the figures from all but the last (which will be delivered in February) are available on his website: https://pianowargames.de/ See also the Piano games tab on my blog for lots more examples.
DeleteThese look superb!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
Thanks, James. Lucas does an amazing job with his sculpts!
