Wurttemberg I.R. #5, "Prinz Friedrich von Wurttemberg"

The Kingdom of Wurttemberg has another infantry regiument marching off the painting table this week!

The 5th Regiment has sky blue facings and pewter buttons.

Therse are Piano Wargames figures once again, designed by Lucas Luber.

The flags were laser printed from free downloads from the Piano Wargames site.

The Inhaber of this regiment, Prinz Friedrich, was the King's nephew, who was 1 year old in 1809!

Prinz Friedrich later pursued a military career, with involvement in the Austro-Prussian war on the losing (Austrian) side.

  1. A lovely unit Peter. The sky blue facings look very effective against the darker blue uniform.

  3. Another excellent unit to add to the Confederation of the Rhine, they do look fantastic Peter. I love the basing, may I ask what flock you use for the grass?

    1. Thanks, Chris! Unlike some, I don't enjoy basing; I want it done as quickly as possible, and yet still look good. I use the "Alpine Meadow" flocking mix by Scenic Express. Essentially its a mix of coarse flock, static grass, and fine talus.

    2. Seems Scenic Express isn't sold in Oz but I do like the look and will see if I can mix and match local products to achieve a similar effect. Thanks Peter.

    1. Thank you for the kind words, Keith! Lucas' sculpts ae fantastic! The Rhine Confederation is at the center of my Historicon 2024 game planning. I still have the Wurttemberg Guard, High Command, and one more line regiment to paint, plus more Bavarian s (Cavalry, Artillery, Light Infantry, and High Command),

  6. Beautiful figures, Peter. Those figures are stunning. I must've missed your earlier post on the, but first I've heard of Piano. They are impressive.
