The next addition to my Indian Army is this unit of Archers.
The figures are by Newline Designs.
Note the scabbards for their 2 handed swords!
The longbows were made from Bamboo. the actual ones, that is, not the figures!
The magic was is once again doing a nice job of bringing out the detail of the figures.
Volleys of arrows, followed by a charge armed with 2 handed swords... would have been pretty terrifying, I would think!
Nice! You saw that Newline figures are on sale NOW? I restocked, of course.
ReplyDeleteThey have their sale just after new Year each year, which is how I got these a year ago. There wasn't anything I really needed from them this year, and the postage costs pretty much consumed the discount!
DeleteA lot of Archers! Look good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, joe!
DeleteThis unit has turned out well . There is something professional and business like about ancient Indian bowman figures which l like.
ReplyDeleteThanks, and I agree. Even my Minifigs Indian archers, many of which remain and will be retained in service, have that look!
DeleteAnother nice unit there for sure. You can buy longbows made of bamboo now, but they are laminated rather than being from one natural stem.
ReplyDeleteLaminated bamboo makes much more sense, akin to a composite bow.
DeleteWell done, superb bowmen!
ReplyDeleteMerci, Phil!
DeleteThey look great Peter, and those scabbards are an impressive size. Just the ting for a two-handed sword.
ReplyDeleteTo paraphrase Mae West's famous line, "Is that your sword in your scabbard, or are you just happy to see me!" :-)
DeleteSplendid looking Indian archers!
