ECW Scots Command

With the Scots due to make their first appearance on the wargames table later this week, some command bases were needed.

Like all of my Scots, these are 28 mm Old Glory figures.

Heather on the (hill) bases!

I believe the near chap is Leslie.

The foot figure will play the role of  the fictional  Colonel Mcintosh MacLeod, leader of a band of Scots mercenary troops, in the next several battles from the scenario book we're using with "For King and Parliament".

    1. The commanders are the vanguard of many more Scots to come! The other Scots on the table for this week were painted over a year ago in anticipation of getting this far with the scenarios.

  3. Nice work on the OG command figures, Peter. Looking forward to seeing the first game report of their exploits in your fictional ECW Campaign.

    1. They are available in pdf, which is really the way to go, as it iks easy to print off what you need for each game.

    1. Well, clearly not, as I have more on order from Lucas! :-)
Although the Scots are on the field, the action takes place literally on the banks of the Thames (the ricer running along one edge is the same).

  6. I think I have a few sheep, until the Piano ones arrive. Sounds like if the Scots win, they can refuse a trip to the Globe.

    1. I have a fair flock of sheep from among my stock of "chickens" (assorted animals used as Disorder markers). I'll have to put some in use for the Scotts if they behave baaaaaa.. .dly

  7. I really regret having sold my ECW Scots Peter. I remember reading Nigel Tranters book on Montrose titled “The Captain General” and really enjoying it during High School. Not having a great knowledge of the war other than the Royalists lost! was gutted how Montrose was let down in the end.

    1. Montrose got the shaft big time for sure. I'm a hoarder; aside from my original armies of Scuby figures (with a few Hinton Huints thrown in), and my abrogative starts on 15 mm ACW I still have essentially everything I have painted, :-)
