Better protected and/or better trained, these are Indian "Heavy Cavalry"
Once again, the figures are mix of "old and new"; Old Glory, and Newline Designs (the trumpeter), that is!
The bronze and purple look is in vogue this year!
Getting the Javelins to glue in place was a nuisance!
"Alpine Meadow" flocking on the bases.
The colorful parade continues! From your photos, it looks like the Old Glory and Newline cavalry mix satisfactorily. Is that case?
ReplyDeleteThe Newline Designs figures are a bit slimmer, but nearly identical in height, so yes, they mix very well
DeleteThey certainly look good together Peter, and the colour scheme you have chosen for this unit is super popping!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith. They probably look more impressive than they are likely to perform on the tabletop!
DeleteVery regal in the purple
ReplyDeleteI almost hesitate to use this color scheme for that reason, but the appeal won out! :-)
DeleteI have seen lots of Indian infantry but this is the first time I've seen a close up of Indian heavy cavalry. Lets hope they perform on the tabletop as good as they look.
ReplyDeleteThanks; most likely they won't, but at least these guys are the better (average) quality guys!
DeleteThey look suitably heavy enough at least, even if not the most fearsome on the table. Lovely job on them Peter.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lawrence. The cavalry are the weakest part of an Indian army, but with Elephants, Heavy Chariots, and Archers with 2 handed swords, there is plenty to like!
DeleteLovely looking unit great colour scheme, even if they're not much use!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks, Iain. Hopefully they will be a bit better than that, LOL!
DeleteThe cavalry are looking as beautiful as the chariots, Peter. "It should be a very striking army on the tabletop" was a marvellous bit of understatement from your good self!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
Thanks so much for the kind words, James. Hopefully they will make a fine parade by the end of the year, and then an appearance or two on the Gaming table!
