Old Glory Army Card

    As readers of this blog will know, I like Old Glory figures, with a very few exceptions. For those of us in the US (overseas shipping charges being what they are, either way), it is hard to beat their value either. Add prompt, efficient service and a very broad selection, consistent support for the HMGS East conventions, and it's hard to find much fault with them from the consumer's standpoint. If you're in the habit of building armies, like I usually am, the Old Glory Army card makes a good deal nearly irresistible! the card costs you $50 up front (but you get a set of free figures with it worth up to half that amount), and is good for a year.  I got my card last year, and bought all my Prussian Reserve Infantry with it, and a big haul of British Infantry and Artillery crews were picked up at Historicon (which saves shipping charges as well). Before the card runs out later this month, it's time to use one last time for 2013. I'll probably renew it again in 2015 after the Waterloo Project is done.

So, time to put the discount to use and add to the proverbial lead pile!  I need this stuff, though. Really, I do!

Egyptian: 1 normal Commander, 5 units normal Heavy Infantry, 1 unit Sherdan Guard Infantry, 4 units normal Light Infantry, 1 unit normal Heavy Cavalry 3 Sub-Commanders, 4 units Light Chariots. (200 points)

In order to bring my Egyptian army up to full size for Legio Quaternarius, I need to add eight (!) more chariots, 24-32 more spearmen, and 48 more archers!  So that would work out to the following order -

British Napoleonics

When I finish the (OG, Foundry, and Essex) figures I have on hand, I'll have 2 Light Infantry Regiments and 10 Line  Infantry Regiments, plus 6 Artillery Batteries  (3 each RHA and Foot artillery), 2 Heavy Dragoons, 1 Light Dragoon, and 1 Hussar towards my 2015 Waterloo project.. The troops below will allow that to be built up further:

Not bad for 180 Infantry, 6 chariots and 6 generals!

After I do these, some Perry Highlanders, Foot Guards and some additional Perry Cavalry will probably complete the Army... then it's on to whatever Dutch-Belgians Joe hasn't already done for Quatytre Bras, and then eventually  Spaniards. Oh, and maybe an obscure Rhine Confederation unit or two! HMM, and my Napoleonic Austrians could really use and up to date unit of Jagers (or two). And so it goes....
