Well it was the Winter Quarter, so "Crossing the Berezina" is at least topical!
Expenses:
January 2019
Lancashire Games 137.46 (many limbers - could not resist the still weak pound, the sale, and beating the price increase!)
Michaels (bulk Floral wire for pikes, etc) 60.76
Michaels (bulk Floral wire for pikes, etc) 60.76
February 2019
LITKO 163.90 (magnetic sheeting and steel base bottoms for my ECW armies). Needed to be able to transport units with aloy pikes without catastrophic damage! Rebasing is well under way!
Joann's Fabrics (Felt for new 8" grid cloth) $22.30
Big Red Bat ventures (FK&P rules, pdf, and markers) $66.75

March 2019
Murawski Miniatures (Baden Light Dragons, Artillery, Mounted Command, Polish Horse Artillery) $139.72
1st Quarter Totals: $590.89
Well over budget (should have been under $450), but almost all expenditures are related to planned convention games, and nothing unplanned... this quarter (gulp!).

Very respectable; will likely decrease in the 2nd quarter... or not! Painting was pretty much 100% according to plan - Early French infantry, then painting the Old Glory ECW lead purchased in 2018.

Very impressive Q1 output, Peter! Congratulations on sticking to plan. For March, did you leave off a couple of units? By my count, 24 cavalry should be 240 points.
ReplyDeleteAh, grade inflation! :-)
DeleteI shall have to revise the quarterly totals downward. At least it will make squalling them easier in future quarters!
Commendable! I still haven't picked up a brush since moving.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean!
DeleteAs for painting...
Well, hop to it, old chum! That lead isn’t going to paint itself, you know! :-)
I am impressed with your ability to stick to the plan! I am feeling your pain on the pikes. I brought my Italian Wars collection up to Jon's for a game last month, and am still reattaching pikes. I will be interested to see how well your solution holds.
ReplyDeleteI completed re-basing all the units that I had to (ie, the ones with piles that would be used for my game at HAVOC, and it worked a treat. The magnetic basing kept everything perfectly in place. Before Historicon I have to do the rest of my ECW collection, and I may well put the steel on the bottoms of at least the Tyrolese Kabdsturm as well, as their pole weapons are also subject to bending and detachment as well!
DeleteHopefully Litko has their usual Memorial Day sale this year!
The adhesive backings and the magnetic sheeting were both super easy to use. Fortunately, the width of the large sheets almost exactly matched that of the 9.1 Liter Really Useful Boxes.
Very organised. A convention or show as a target does provide great motivation for getting the painting done!
ReplyDeleteThat reads like a very productive quarter, and also one of restraint. Those Litko A4 sheets are a good size, and I find they fit the boxes I use very well. Unfortunately the postage cost has crept up to about 60% to Australia, but I have found a local supplier who seems just as reliable to date.
ReplyDeleteAt 60% add on for shipping, another supplier was certainly needed! And as I think of it, I think it is the 8.1 L RUB’s that I use. I can’t just run downstairs and check them as I am off on vacation at the moment!
DeletePainting to plan and within 20%-ish of budget; I'd say 'mission accomplished'! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, James. More like within 30%-ish of budget, though! :-)
DeletePlanned games are a major driver of my painting... and some times it works the other way around, too! :-)
ReplyDeleteLots of painted figures! Bit of an overspend, but as you say convention driven, will there be belt tightening to bring you back on track in the next quarter?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
