Indian Medium Cavalry #1

The first of four new units of Indian cavalry trots off the painting desk!

The bulk of the figures are by Old Glory; this unit's shields and the standard bearer are from Newline Designs.

Cavalry were not held in particularly high esteem in the Indian armies of this time.

In to the Strongest terms, these are Cavalry, Javelin, Raw.

At very least, they will be cheap!

  1. Another beautiful unit Peter. This is going to be a very eye-catching army when completed.

    1. Thanks, Lawrence. When complete, it will roughly double the size of my 40 year old Indian Army!

  2. Certainly look colorful, the Army pretty bright over all.

    1. The lighter hues work well with the darker skin tones, I thinkl.

  3. Takes real men to harness their mounts with pink tack. Nice looking horsemen, Peter.

  4. More nice-looking examples of OG ranges Peter! The Indians certainly favour, bold, bright colours, so these horsemen should feel right at home!

    1. Thanks, Keith; glad you like them. The idea of Pink being a feminine color is a relatively recent (a few centuries) thing, and even then hardly universal.

  6. Great looking cavalry and the Newline figure fit in well with the old glory ones!

  7. Quality not helped by the fact that I seem to remember they liked to give their horses beer before battle??? No idea where I read that - maybe the old WRG guide?

    1. Yes, I recall reading that years ago as well - I think it was in the WRG materials as well. Alcohol certainly doesn't improve the performance of most tasks. I don't think I'd want to charge on a drunken horse! :-)
