These Retinue archers wear the Gules and Vert livery of Sir Richard Grey.
I did a unit of Bills in this livery last year, so this unit adds to Lord Grey's contingent.
A flag will be added shortly (I have several new packs on the way from Pete's Flags).
These are Old Glory figures, once again from the former "Revenge" line.
A useful and colourful addition. The faces of the figures all look very determined.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter; the livery colors help make painting WotR troops fun!
DeleteLooking good! What rules are you using?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mack. Rules are test of Resolve, Wars of the Roses: https://testofresolve.com/?v=7516fd43adaa although To the Strongest! would work, too. There's a walk through of a ToR on this blog.
DeleteAnother fine addition to the stockpile!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jon. The WotR project was one of those things that wasn't planned far in advance, but has been enjoyable. I may well add a few more units in 2024, and there are several kore to come in this batch!
DeleteThis is becoming a very substantial collection. Nice work Peter.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lawrence. It now stands a little over 300 figures.
DeleteThe arrows storm will darken the sky! Nice work, are you packing as you paint?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe. No packing, except for a move within my office this month (major expansion is nearing completion)
DeleteNice contrast of colours to draw eye
ReplyDeleteWotR is fun to paint; the livery combinations work well!
DeleteGreat looking unit of archers, substantial additions for an unplanned expansion!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks, Iain. I think by the time I am done this collection will reach nearly 400 figures.
DeleteNice looking figures Peter
ReplyDeleteThanks, David! You'll get the chance to see them in person next month!
DeleteMore great work on your ever expanding WotR collection, Peter.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith. A few more units and some more commanders to come this year. I may add another few in 2024, and then that *should* be it for this collection. "Should" :-)

ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog while delving into the rich history of the Wars of the Roses and was immediately drawn in by your detailed account of the Archers of Sir Henry Grey.
