Along with Kadesh, I have two other games using the To the Strongest! rules scheduled, all featuring the exploits of Ramses II. The first features him confronting an alliance of traditional opponents - the Libyans to the West, and the Canaanites to the West.
In TTS!, the bulk of the Libyan force will likely be made up of combined light uinits, which should be interesting to play.
As has been noted before, even in Ancient times, fighting in what amounts to a towel and a designer jockstrap must have been a bit unsettling for both the warrior and his opponent!
"Young man, I say young man..."
These are all Old Glory figures.
With so little clothing, I suppose Gym time was mandatory for these fellows! :-)
I used the colored Micron pens to suggests designs on their capes.
As usual, the "Desert" basing works especially well on these light infantry stands.
Javelins at the ready!
Delta CC "green Tea" was once again used for these capes.
The black "magic Wash" worked well to bring out detail on these figures.
From Libya, with love!
We have Tropical storm/Hurricane Henri due to hit Connecticut in the morning. Hopefully it will stay well East of us, although some models have it turning West after landfall and potentially passing straight over us. Definitely staying home tomorrow. We have a generator, and it seems likely we'll need it!
Excellent Libyans. Batten down the hatches, Peter, and good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jon; Just light rain for now; it looks like the storm will make Landfall a bit further to the East than originally anticipated. If it doesn't get pulled to the West, as some models still predict, due to an approaching Low pressure system, we will be spared the worst of it, although Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island will likely have extensive power outages and downed trees, plus a big storm surge.
DeleteTake care. And as Jonathan says, lovely Libyans!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Aaron. We are in better shape than most with our own generator, but I like it best when we don't even have to use it!
DeleteThese look great! Re: towels and jockstraps. Maybe the towels are for flicking the enemy when wet as a secondary weapon.
ReplyDeleteHope you stay safe and don’t get any damage.
Thanks! As above, it seems we will be fortunate; the next 8 hours or so will tell the most.
DeleteGreat extension of the locker room analogy, although these guys wouldn't have much to change in or out of, would they? :-)
Peter,
ReplyDeleteNice work...the micron pens are great tools, much more precise than toothpicks! It is 11:15, up here mostly rain and 10/20 mph winds. Stay outta the hot tub today!
Thanks, Joe. The hot tub cover in particular we have well battened down!
DeleteNice job Peter. At least when they are wearing so little clothing they are quick to paint. Good luck with the hurricane; hopefully it will have substantially blown itself out by the time it gets to your place.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lawrence. Yes, they are pretty quick to paint, although doing the javelins was a bit of a pain. No shields to glue on, at least!
DeleteGood looking barely clothed skirmishers! I hope the storm wasn't too tough!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Bare-ly clothed, indeed. Fortunately, the storm was mostly a fizzle for us. To the East of Landfall, in Rhode Island. they had significant damage, but even there the storm weakened and passed fairly quickly, limiting the effects.
