Easter parade - Scots version!

Everyone loves a parade, right? This army was finished last fall but the weather just now cooperated enough for some shots of the entire army.  Ready, maestro?!

Here's the ECW Scots version!

In your bonnie blue bonnets

and plaide with tartan on it

ye will be the finest laddies

 in yer Easter parade.

I'll be all in clover

to have yous look them over

the braw loons noo struttin' oot in me Easter parade!

On the parade ground, with a drummin' sound

the photographer has snapped us

and you'll find that they're in the Scots grand couture!

Oh, one could write a sonnet

about their bonnie blue bonnets

I dinnae ken if ye lyke me wee Scots Easter Parade!

With apologies to Irving Berlin and Scots everywhere, LOL!

    1. Thank you, Mark. Now I have to get them all to the table some time! Many of them have seen some combat as a part of the FK&P "Maidehythe" series of actions, which was the main inspiration for doing the Scots to begin with. There's now another supplement covering the ECW in Scotland...

  7. A terrific collection Peter, and there is nothing better than an American with Swedish heritage putting on a Scottish accent.

    1. Thanks, Lawrence. That's Danish heritage, actually. My great grandfather emigrated from Denmark following the 2nd Schleswig-Holstein War. He and his family initially lived in the upper midwest, where most people understood Scandinavian names. When the family moved to Virginia, where nobody understood, them, everyone called him "Mr. Anderson". So he just changed his name to that, and not even the Danish version (Andersen). Of course, Anderson actually can be a good Scots name itself, LOL!
