Another Sea Peoples warband; Teresh this time.
Described as "wearing tight cloth turbans".
Like all of the Sea Peoples. there origins are obscure. Current theories include origins on Crete, or the Tyrrhenian Sea, i.e., early Etruscans.
Whatever the case, they were a threat to the Egyptians, and allied with the Libyans at times.
Another very nice looking unit, must admit the Foundry figures hold up very well, very nice miniatures, lovely basing too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Donnie!
DeleteNice figures very well painted just don't impale yourself on those spears.
ReplyDeleteThank you Richard, already have. The fingers didn't thank me for it!
DeleteNicely sculpted figures
ReplyDeleteThat they are, Gary!
DeletePeter, nicely done and the bases are a grand looking idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joe. I confess to really liking this basing, which is super easy. Paint the bases a yellowish tan. Make a blend of colored scenic sand (from Michaels, or similar - cheap and no where near done with my first and only pack) and Woodlands Scenics fine ballast (ditto). Apply thinned down white glue to the bases. Dip into the blend, coating the bases. Let dry, then apply a few tufts. Done!
DeleteIn a strange case of deja vu I had a dream about a Sea Peoples army last night and that I was putting one together, and woke up this morning to see this post. Lovely work Peter.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm recalling it, the dream actually involved me looking at your blog to get a few ideas. Needless to say, I'm off down the shops this morning to put my lottery numbers in.
DeleteLOL, that's funny, Lawrence!
DeleteThe charm of those Foundry Figures is lovely, but those spears do look deadly and painful to the careless hand;)!
ReplyDeleteThey are supposed to be posed throwing them, but that seemed way too fragile to me. Might be best to handle them with the leather gloves! :-)
DeleteAnother lovely batch of Sea People there Peter - I am a bit concerned about Lawrences comment though - maybe we should consult Stew (Terrible Loss...blog) as I think he is a psychiatrist?! Dreaming about new wargames armies is troubling enough but dreaming about reading wargaming blogs about new armies.... something deeply disturbing is going on!! :)
ReplyDeleteI do quite a bit of psychiatry myself as a Family Doc, and I can assure you that Lawrence's dreams are perfectly normal... if you're a wargamer! :-)
