Cataphracts #1

While I was rummaging in the depths of the Lead Pile for Knightly types. I came across these fellows.

These are Old Glory Figures that I originally purchased more than 10 years ago.

I'm pretty sure they are Byzantine Kataphactoi.

For the moment, I have chosen to leave them pretty generic.

This way they cam easily serve in my Sassanid Persian and/or Palmyran armies as well.

  1. It’s always useful having some generic units. Especially when they look as imposing as this unit.

    1. We'll see if I eventually decide to customize them, which would be just shield designs and banners.

  2. You really are steaming through knights of all ages Peter. Lovely work on these Byzantines.

    1. Yes, quite a few odds and ends! A few more to go before returning to Napoleonic's in a big way!

    1. Yes Old Glory does have some superb figures; these certainly qualify as such, I'd say!

  4. I was going to say the same thing re OG - some of their ranges can be a bit hit and miss - but they do have some very nice figures - and these are some of the latter!

    1. Yes, quality can be variable for sure, but their god stuff is really good, and (in the US), very reasonable in price!

  5. Nice , tempting to make up a background that has your favorite characters in the unit.
