Knights of the Roses #1

My friends, Tim Couper and David Knight, will be running the Battle of Crecy at Historicon this July, using their new "Test of Resolve: The Hundred Years War" rules.

I  wasn't sure that I had enough knights for that undertaking, so I remembered that I had these Old Glory Wars of the Roses in the lead pile. Not really the correct armor for Crecy, but they'll do!

"We fart in your general direction!"

    1. Yes, they should make suitable targets for the English Longbowmen!

  4. Lovely work Peter. I like that attitude of "it will do." It works nicely alongside "good enough IS good enough!"

    1. It's sort of like fretting about using French troops in shako for Austerlitz, rather than bicornes. Not happening! :-)

  5. Great looking knights Peter, and regardless of Era or armour, I am sure the English longbows will cut them down in swathes!

  6. A very nice unit that should grace the table nicely! Whether they perform well is another matter!

    1. Yes, often the scruffiest, most battered "veterans" perform better than the freshly painted but green troops! :-)
