Tiroler Schützen #3 "Otto Grießen"

The last of the "Browncoat Division" of the Tyrolean rebels is led by Herr Otto Grießen.

His men (and women) wear "terracotta" colored jackets or dresses, grey Lederhosen, and the ever popular green hats.

Otto's band are all experienced marksmen.

Loading and shooting in pairs, they are also equipped for "rock-rolling".

They plan to use their rolling stones to make their Alpine passes truly a "Stairway to Heaven" for their enemies!

Rock rolling is the favored activity of the rebel on the left, Herr Mick Jäger.

    1. Well, there's Bad and Badener! :-)
Have to decide whether to spring for those Murawski Light Dragoons and artillery, after all.

    2. Peter, I didn't finish my reply before it sent... It should said, "...but the figures look great!" Sometimes, responding from the iPad is a "bad" idea.

    3. Jon, knowing your usual amiable nature, I already inferred that. I have had the same issue when writing from my Ipad as well.

"Bad" in German means a spa, but best not use your IPad while in one, eh?

    1. Tim, as you know, the 1809 campaign is a particular favorite of mine. The best source in English for information about the Tyrolean revolt is the chapters in John Gill's truly outstanding book on the Confederation of the Rhine's contributions in 1809, With Eagles to Glory: Napoleon and his German Allies in the 1809 Campaign, with a newly released 3rd Edition now available.

The Tyroleans will definitely be appearing at Historicon 2019!

    1. Thank you, Phil. I went with the orange-brown Delta CC Teracotta color for these guys to help them stand out a bit more.

  5. Another effective-looking unit. I'm not sure who I'd prefer to take on; Herr Mick Jager or that fearsome-looking lady. Most probably the former.

  6. Another distinctive irregular unit! They look great and I'm sure they'll roll stones well too!

    1. Thanks, Iain. In FoB terms, they may need a "Rolling Stones" card in their deck!
