2019 goes out with a BANG!

I ordered these guns from Brigade games, and they arrived shortly before Christmas.

They are for use in my Fortress for Vauban's Warts.

They are  28mm 12 pounder Naval guns.

I debated getting the 18 pounders, and probably should have, but these should do the job.

I also took advantage of the holidays to paint up the additional 4 pieces of 6" earthworks that I, well, unearthed, preparing for the last game.

I believe these were carried by Old Glory.

They are done similar to but not exactly the same as the other set of 4. They will see the table in the final Vauban's Wars play test.

A very happy, prosperous, and healthy New Year to all of you!

Peter

    1. You've seen the Brigade Games 28 mm Spanish figures here on the blog before. Other items in this last order were French Naval officers, Cantinieres, Fifer and Drum Major, and some Republican looking Generals and ADC's for my Early French in Bicorne Brigades. Also some Brigade Games and Coplestone figures for a small future Afrika/Congo type project.

    2. All very tempting choices! I have a few odds and ends to pick up to finish a couple of Hicks' French battalions but the Spanish look very tempting. I still have several battalions of Spanish to paint from your great sales' pitch a couple of years ago. Maybe 2020 will see Spanish in 28mm for my Peninsular War project?

    3. I really enjoyed doing my own Spanish Army, and the Hicks sculpts are excellent. Eventually I plan to add another two infantry units and a couple more stands of Grenadiers, and some Cazadores a Caballo... when someone makes a suitable figure for them!

  7. Good looking guns! 18lb would have been better, but these will work. I'll be working on my PaperTerrain fortress this weekend while you are play testing. Call me if you have any serious questions about the rules while you are testing.
