More Italian Wars cavalry... Heavy, Extra Heavy, and Really, Really Heavy! :-)
"He's not heavy... he's mein Brüder!"
Mix of Essex, Redoubt, Hinchliffe, Old Glory, and Foundry.
All told, there are 24 HC lancers, 12 EHC lancers, and 30 Gendarmes... and another stray commander.
Another impressive box full of Renaissance death dealers!
ReplyDeleteThey were certainly deadly at the time!
DeleteLovely collection of horse - love the checkered barding on one of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dean.
DeleteThey look great Peter. Reminds me I must try to give my 15mm Italian renaissance figures some priority over the next couple of years.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great period for painters... even given the dread one feels when first confronting Landsknechts!!
DeleteGendarme it they are good!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
A fine bon mot, James!
DeleteNow we're talking! Great bunch of gendarmes!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
yes, the Gendarmes and the pikes are the stars of the show in the Great Italian Wars, but the grubby arquebusiers ascended progressively as the era progressed!
