Renaissance Reconnaissance, Part 10 - Box #14; "Go Light on the Cavalry!"

Aside from the Stradiots and Genitors displayed previously, the bulk of Light cavalry during this era were mounted Crossbowmen and Mounted Arquebusiers.

It seems likely they probably dismounted to shoot and/or load.

24 Mounted Crossbows, 24 Mounted Arquebusiers, and yet another 7 mounted commanders.
Figures are a mix of Hincliffe, Essex, and  Old Glory.

  1. Lots of options there. Merry Christmas to all of you. May the '22 be a better year.

    1. Thanks, Joe. The first part of 2022 isn't likely to be good; we had multiple meetings and emails on Wednesday gearing up for an onslaught of Omicron and Holiday fueled patient deluge; our emergency departments have been swamped for the past 2 weeks, and we've been crazy busy for months with largely non COVID stuff.... until the past 2 weeks. I hadn't lost a single patient to COVID until late November, and now I've lost 3.

  2. More impressive troops Peter. That is quite a collection. We have gone from zero cases per day (apart from those in hotel quarantine) to six hundred yesterday with the borders now having been open for just over a week, so it's quite a mental adjustment for us. Thankfully only one hospitalisation so far.

    1. Thanks, Lawrence. You have done far better than we have at combatting the pandemic, but the Omicron variant may pose a realm challenge everywhere.
